The Corporate Mentoring program through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Finney County is a partnership between local businesses and the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Mentors are employees who spend time matched one to one with a child in their community in a school setting.

Big Brothers Big Sisters programs have historically enjoyed a positive reputation as nice programs that help children who are without a mom or a dad in their lives. Recently gathered statistical data have shown that they also are among the most potent weapons in the battle against juvenile crime, drug and alcohol abuse, and related problems.

Who Are We?

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Finney County Chapter, is a congressionally chartered national non-profit organization with over 500 affiliated agencies across the United States and Puerto Rico. Our services are based on the premise that one-to-one friendship with an adult can provide the support a child needs to grow a mature in a positive way. BBBSA has been meeting the needs of children for over 90 years.

Who Do We Serve?

Nearly 3 million children in the United States are growing up without adequate parental support-many of them in single parent households. In this area of Southwest Kansas, research shows that the socioeconomic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds are varied, but the needs of the children remain the same: To grow into healthy, productive members of our community, these children need additional adult companionship, guidance and understanding.

The kids on our waiting list know that life isn't perfect. They don't expect you to be. All we want is you. All they want is you. It's pretty unstructured. There's no uniform. No set time and place. Meetings are the time you spend together. Everything is up to you.

Do You Want to Make a Difference?
