Evaluation Process

Agencies of Big Brothers Big Sister of America are asked to comply with Minimum Practice Standards established and approved by the National Board of Directors. Compliance with these standards forms the basic framework of the evaluation process for all affiliated agencies. Two of the broad needs that are fulfilled by compliance with these standards are that consistency is maintained throughout the national affiliations and an Agency's effectiveness becomes available to the community it serves. The national evaluation provides the Agency with an objective overview of their performance and provides direction for improvement. A national Field Representative conducts periodic reviews and submits reports to the Executive Directors, Board of Directors, and National Field Staff. We passed our latest review in November of 1999 with many compliments from the Field Representative assigned.

Match process is closely monitored by the caseworker. Supervision and support measures ensure that the match is productive and beneficial for the child. Phone interviews are conducted for the first three weeks after a match is made and an in person interview is completed after four weeks. Monthly contact is maintained until the one-year anniversary interview is conducted. Quarterly contact is maintained throughout the life of the match.

Be a Big help to a Little friend.

Helping these kids doesn't require spending a lot of money. Just share a few hours of time a week and your friendship.

We ask that you spend just a few hours a week with your Little Brother or Sister doing things you would normally do-playing sports, games, washing the car, or whatever you enjoy. You're time investment is flexible and is totally up to you and your Little.
