Match of the
Month
Each month in the newsletter we will feature a Little on the waiting list or a match. The Match of the Month is Jeff (LB) and Tracey (BB). They have been matched since July and get along great! They have been fishing several times, target shooting, and enjoy playing cathc. Jeff waited for 3 years for a BB. Now he's a MATCH!

Birthday/Anniversary Wishes to our November/December Birthdays and Match Anniversaries!

Now that everyone is back in school, we hope you are all working hard and doing your best! We have been! In August we held a new fundraising and recruitment campaign for the first time and it was a great success! The Big Campaign for Littles' raised money for us as awell as many new volunteers.

In September our staff, which has grown gagin, attended the Big Brothers Big Sisters Region X Conference in Wichita. We are all excited about what we learden and hope to implement some new programs and ideas this Spring!

We will be making a promotional video for our agency in 1999 and if you would like to participate let us know!

We will be having our Annual Christmas Part on Sunday, December 6. ABATE is sponsoring it this year. It will be from 1:00-3:00pm. The location will be announced closer to the time of the party. If you have something in mind that you would like to have for Christmas please let one of us know! Just call and leave a message. All Little Brothers and Sisters will receive a gift.

Everyone will be getting new purple event T-shirts this month. All Littles will get one FREE and all Bigs can purchase one for $5.00. Please contact us if you need one!

If you have been matched 6 months or a year, Heather is trying to reach you to set up times to set goals for your match and evaluate how everything is going. If this is YOU, please call her and make arrangements to get a time set up!

Little of the Month

Our Little of the Month is Jodi. She was matched earlier this year to BS Krissy. Krissy found out less than a month ago that she was moving to Kansas City. Jodi is 15 years old and is attending high school. She enjoys school and is active. What Jodi enjoyed most about being matched was that she had someone to talk to, and that she could share her opinion with. Jodi and Krissy enjoyed cooking, watching movies, going out to eat, going to the rodeo, and spending time together, Krissy felt that the most exciting part of the match was getting to know each other and said their first few visits were like a "flashback" to when Krissy was a kid. "When Jodi shared with me, it brought back memories I could share with her." Jodi enjoyed having a Big Sister and would like to be matched again. If you are interested in being matched to a Little please call our office. We have many options available: Big Brother, Big Sister, Couple Match, Family Match, or School Mentor.
