Match of the Month

LS, Saratep, and BS Jane have been matched since September and have become very close friends! They have enjoyed skating, attending a dance festival, going to the park, eating out, and attending the activity at the Salvation Army Youth Activity Center. Saratep's father is very pleased with the way Saratep and Jane get along. Saratep enjoys having Jane to do things with and talk to when they are together. Congratulations to them and keep having fun together!

To All School Based Mentors

Thank you for your participation at your schools and for serving the children in our community. Just a reminder: There will be a change in our program next semester. We will be matching one volunteer to one child - instead of a whole classroom of children. Those of you who will be here in the Spring and would like to enroll in our program please contact our office at 275-2424 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Once more we thank you and hope to hear from you soon! Thank you to Jenny and Claudia, our School Based Mentoring Program Facilitators for their service to this program during 1998. They did a great job!

Special Thank You

The staff would like to thank the Board of Directors for their dedicated service over the last year. We would like to extend a special Thank You to Mr. Dennis Melgosa, our 1998 Board President, who went above and beyond the call of duty many times for the benefit of this organization and the children that we serve. Match of the Month

The match of the month are LB Marcus and BB Bob. They have been matched for over 2 years. They have grown to very good friends. Both Bob and Marcus' mom feel they have seen positive changes in marcus since the match was made. There was a time when Bob's job limited the amount of time he had to spend with Marcus, but they made it through. Recently, Marcus and Bob seem to be closer than ever. They enjoy doing many things together-going to movies, hiking, and shooting rockets. congratulations on your 2 year match anniversary!
