New Event
T-Shirts

If you have not received your new purple and white event shirts, we will be handing them out at the Holiday party. They are free to all Littles and $5.00 for Bigs and other volunteers. If you want your shirt before then, please stop by the office and pick one up.

Holiday Party

The holiday party will be on Sunday, December 6, from 1-3 p.m. at the VFW on Mary Street. We will have snacks and gifts for everyone. The ABATE motorcycle club will be hosting the party for us again this year. If you want to ride on the motorcycles you must have a consent form signed by your parents if you are a Little. All Bigs, Parents, and Littles (matched or waiting) are invited. If you need a ride please contact us!
Due to new and more strict guidelines it is very important that we hear from every person involved in a match EVERY month (if you have been matched for a year or less,) and every three months if you have been matched for more than a year. This includes all Little Brothers and Sisters, Big Brothers and Sisters and the Littles' parent or guardian. The contact can be by phone or in person and you can talk to our new match advocate, Jan Hewson, or our Case manager, Heather Crouch. To help them out, we are having a contest starting in January. There will be a prize given out to the first match whose parent, Big and Little all call or come by the office.
Good Luck!!

We are gearing up now, for what we hope will be the most successful Bowl for Kids' Sake fundraiser ever. This year's theme is: Campaign for Kids. We are hosting a kick off Spaghetti Dinner and information session for anyone who would like to a be a team captain, or serve on the BFKS Committee. The dinner will be Monday, December 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church here in Garden City. If you plan to attend, please RSVP - ASAP!!! Everyone is welcome who would like to help out. You don have to know how to bowl!

We would like to thank Chris at Hubris Communications for his generous donation. Our new web site can be accessed at: www.gardencity.net/bbbs/

Call us if you need our individual e-mail addresses. We would also like to thank a very generous mom, Suzanne, for donating some furniture and a refrigerator to the office. We really appreciate it, and so will the guests to our office! Thanks Again!!

Notice: Our office will be closed December 23-25, and Friday January 1, 1999, for the Holidays. If you need to reach us please contact the office at 275-2424 and we will check the messages and return calls.

Little of the Month

The Little of the month is Michael. He has been waiting for a Big Brother for about 3 years. Michael is 10 years old and is very athletic. He enjoys baseball, bicycling, football, and soccer. Video games and computers are also interests of Michael's. He would like to have a Big Brother who is active and would enjoy spending time in these activities with him. If you are interested in being matched to Michael or any of our other waiting Littles, please contact Heather at 275-2424.
