We are continuing to gear up for Bowl for Kids Sake. this year should be the best year ever! Many teams are signed up to help out.
This should allow us the means to place more mentors with children.
The Corporate Teams will be Bowling on Sunday, March 21. We will be contacting each team the first week of March. Each week beginning
this Saturday, the Garden City Telegram will be running a full page asd with information on the Corporate Teams and their pledge tallies. This information will
run with an article about a Big, Little, or Match from our program.
If you are interested in being in the Telegram, please let us know! You do not have to be in a Match
to be in the paper, you just have to be on the Waiting List? The first week will be Big Brother Dennis and Little Brother Leroy. They have been matched for more than a year!
GOLDEN PLAINS CREDIT UNION
Our major sponsor for Bowl for Kids' Sake is Golden Plains Credit Union. They are very interested in our program and believe in helping the youth in our community. Each week we will be filling up the bowling pin gauges on the Big Brother Big Sister billboards with amounts of money pledged to our program. Every $1.000 is another child matched! UBC and Sign Source very generously donated the supplies to make the signs. Thank You!
Summer Campout Weekend
If you are in our program and are between the ages of 8 and 17, we will be sponsoring a camp out in June or July with the Cops. If you are interesed in participating in something like this please let us know. More info later...
Alcohol Tax Grant
This year the City and County very generously granted Big Brothers Big sisters of finney County $12,500 in Alcohol Tax Funds. Our program is very effective in prevention of drug and alcohol use in youth. We will be spending this money to make our casemanger full-time, provide quarterly prevention education for our staff, volunteers and children in our program.
March Activity
BOWL FOR KIDS' SAKE
Bowl for Kids' Sake will be the Activity for March. If you would like to participate, you just need to get pledges on your pledge sheet and you can win prizes! The top child pledge earner will get a Playstation. If you want to bowl with others or to get a team, you need 4 people. Your teams will bowl on Sunday, March 28 from 1-5.
BMX Bike Info:
If you are interested in participating in the BMX Bike program but do not have the Equipment or the bike, let us know, there are several sponsors available willing to provide it to you for free.
