Personnel
The actual work of the agency is carried out by volunteers, however professionals are required to properly screen and train the volunteers and to assist the volunteers and the children with any problems that come up.
The Executive Director oversees the entire agency including all programs, coordinates efforts and provides support to various committees of the Board of Directors, employs, evaluates and directs staff according to established personnel policies. She is responsible for coordinating all public relations, activities, and recruitment efforts and supervises all casework.
The function of the case managers is to conduct volunteer and parental orientations, interview volunteer applicants, parents, and children, and help select and match suitable candidates. The caseworker works directly with the Screening Committee and maintains a working relationship with other social service programs and schools. In 1997, we were serving about 100 children through our office. In 2007, we served over 2000 children in Finney & Kearny Counties, 432 were matched with a volunteer one on one. We have grown tremendously and are faced with the challenge of maintaining additional staff to continue our growth in this community. There is a definite need that we will work everyday to meet with your help. We are committed to continue to look for diverse funding sources to meet these needs.
