CAMP BACKGROUND
The George W. Finnup YMCA Camp has been around since 1975 when the Finnup Foundation donated 77 acres to the Garden City Family YMCA. The camp borders the Arkansas River and gives everyone of all ages a chance to enjoy the great outdoors. The Camp is also equipped with a pavilion and restrooms, picnic tables and BBQ grills. Additionally, a small pond sits on the East end of the Camp.
CAMP LOCATION
The Finnup YMCA Camp is located 25 miles from Garden City in Gray County. Here are directions from the YMCA
- Head South down Center Street to Fulton Street
- Turn left (East) on Fulton and head out on Highway 50
- Then you will drive for 20 miles to the Charleston Elevator
- At the Charleston Elevator, turn right (south) for approximately three miles
- After you cross the bridge and come to an intersection, turn left (East) and follow the road until you hit the Camp on the left-hand side of the road.
Signs are in progress, but please call the YMCA to get a key.
CAMP RENTAL
The YMCA encourages groups of all kinds to use the Camp for your special gathering. Whether it is a family outing, company party, school activity we have lots of fun activities for you to enjoy! A deposit of $100.00 will secure a spot for your group. Fees can be waived if the group would be interested in doing special projects at the Camp or at the YMCA.
