As our Christmas gift to the community, the Garden City Family YMCA awards deserving students a  FREE Youth Membership through our “Keeping Our Promise” program. This program was launched with one student in December of 2000 at Victor Ornelas Elementary School and has increased every year. In 2006, we awarded every school at the elementary level, Bernandine Sitts Intermediate Center, Charles Stones Intermediate Center, St. Mary's, St. Dominic's, and the elementary schools in Holcomb  with two memberships. This program originated through our Heritage Club (YMCA Endowment) to recognize special youth in your school.

Schools in our district will submit students' names to our committee.  Teachers look for a student who exhibits the core values of the YMCA:  Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring. These youth are models of determination, cooperation, and fortitude in their endeavors.

We believe in our community and our kids; this is our way of showing a commitment to them and to our future.  If you would like to contribute to this program, please email Chad Knight or call him at  (620) 275-1199
