Ways to Volunteer

the practice of people working on behalf of others or a particular cause without payment for their time and services. There are three major benefits of volunteering:

Economic, Social & Individual Career.

Ways to Volunteer

     - 51% of Americans volunteer their time

     - Over 1,000 community members are already enjoying the benefits of volunteering

     - Volunteering benefits your health? It’s true, volunteering provides a sense of  well-being and positive social interaction. It just makes you feel good!

     - When you volunteer you also learn new skills!

     - Volunteering gives you a chance to meet new friends!

Ways to Volunteer

On behalf of the Garden City Family YMCA, I would like to welcome you to our ‘family’. If you are thinking about volunteering for the YMCA, please stop by and visit with me. We strive to serve the community to the fullest with programs for people of all ages and most

importantly, give everyone a chance to improve themselves in spirit, mind and body.

We are a membership and program-driven

organization and feel we offer the most unique youth and family opportunities in Garden City. We rely heavily on volunteers to drive our

programs. As a YMCA volunteer, you can coach in our sports department and serve as a role model for young people, help out with fundraising as a Campaigner or be a part of a committee or the Board of Directors to set

policies. No matter how you help, you’ll make a big difference as you join other members and create a feeling of ownership to your YMCA.

The YMCA is volunteer-led and volunteer-founded. We are blessed our founding fathers; Carlos Spikes, Clifford Mayo and Bryce Roderick had the foresight to start our YMCA. Hopefully, you will get the chance to come by and help. Don’t wait, “Do Something Good” today by sharing your skills and enthusiasm with others as a YMCA volunteer.

Sincerely,

Chad Knight
